I recently bought the DVD for the 70′s tv show What’s Happening!! My husband and I wanted our children to see what we grew up watching. They love it. Our daughter especially loves Dee, because she acts like her sometimes. I’d forgotten what a loving show it was. It was positive and dealt with a lot of important issues, all of which we are still dealing with today. The other thing I’d forgotten about the show as that Raj wanted to be a writer. I started to remember how I sat around writing little stories on notebook paper and fantasizing about being a famous writer one day. LOL. Well, I’m not famous, but I am a writer. Shows like What’s Happening!! helped little girls like me dream. And if you can dream, you can make it a reality.

I’m starting to get a lot of feedback about my latest novel, In the Mirror. The general consensus is that the main character, Jasmine, is crazy. I know she does some crazy things in the book, but I think she’s quite sane. She’s in love and love makes us do some crazy things. Take Marion Crane in the movie Psycho. When she decides to steal the money for her boyfriend, she’s sane. She knows exactly what she’s doing. She even enjoys imagining what her boss will say about her once he discovers what she’s done. So she did a crazy thing, but she’s not crazy. She’s in love. Like Jasmine isn’t crazy. She’s in love.

“Tell Me” is one of the best old school jams. There is another version like this but another guy is screaming in the background. I have it on 12″ but I can’t find it on Youtube. This version is almost as good. Jasmine sings this song every before she and Daniel make their move.
