Back in the summer I contacted “Professor’s House” and asked if they would be so kind as to review my novel, In the Mirror.  I was told that they did not review books, but I could write an article on the subject of the book.  Between family, church, work and promoting, I wrote this little article.  People tell me it’s pretty good.

Thanks Professor’s House for publishing it.

20 Essential Novels

Today I came across a website, Accredited Online Colleges.  On this site is a list of 20 novels written by and about the experiences of African American women.  And I was pleased, shocked and honored to find my first novel, Water In A Broken Glass, to be #17 on this list along with all the writers I admire–Toni Morrison, Alice Walker, Gloria Naylor, Terry McMillian, Zora Neale Hurston, Paule Marshall, Octavia Butler, and many more.  I cannot tell you how wonderful this makes me feel.  Water is 11 years old and every singel day someone finds it and finds me and tells me what a wonderful novel it is and how it changed their lives.  I never knew it would have the impact that it is having on people.  It amazes me and sometimes it scares me and makes me smile.  When I was writing it, I hoped that people would love Satin and understand Tonya.  As it turns out, people love and understand every character in the book.  They also love and understand the story and the struggle that everyone is going through.

I cannot thank Guichard Cadet enough for having the guts and vision to publish Water.  And as always, I thank my husband, who has been there for me since I we were 12-years-old.

Christmas Music

I love, love Christmas.  Here is a classic from A Charlie Brown Christmas, “Linus and Lucy.”

Ready for Christmas

I am so ready for Christmas.  I’ve been singing Christmas songs all day.  Fat Daddy is one of my favorite songs.  It will also be in my next novel, Kizmic’s Journey.
