Well, after months of struggling, I’m finally really into my last novel called The Subway. It’s a challenging book, but I’m having a great time writing it. I have the hardest time starting a book. The first chapter gives me the blues, because I can’t just write any old thing and keep going, even though I know it’s a first draft. The first chapter sets everything up for me, so it has to be right from the gate. Now that doesn’t mean that when I finish the beginning won’t change, but for now that is the beginning.
I’m working really hard on Kizmic’s Journey. I’ve been working on this novel for a few years. I got the idea for Kizmic’s Journey right after Water In A Broken Glass was published. I jotted down some notes then and now I’ve got a wonderful first draft.
I going to spend the next few months editing the heck out of the story. I want it just right. I love editing almost as much as I love getting that first draft out of my head. When I’m reading Kizmic’s Journey, I laugh out loud. That let’s me know that I’m on the right track. If I don’t find anything I write funny, no one else will. I believe I will have a publishable novel by Thanksgiving.
I’ll be posting some excerpts soon.
